Endow-A-Seat

• What will my donation support?

  Your donation will provide a seat in the new Concert Hall of the Armerding Center for Music and the Arts.  This performance venue will provide outstanding acoustics for performance and recording that will serve students, as well as thousands of guests each year. 

• What are the specifications for the seat plaque?

  Plaques will be affixed to the front of each seat in the Concert Hall. Your plaque will be  0.75” x 5.0” pewter/aluminum, and engraved with black infilled type. Each plaque may have up to two lines of text with 50 characters (including spaces) per line. Inscription font size is 14 pt. Inscriptions are subject to approval by Wheaton College.

• May I select the location of my seat?

  Yes! You will have the opportunity to select your seat on a first-come, first-served basis.

• May I sit in the seat I have named when attending performances?

  You may sit in your seat if it’s available; however, seat name recognition does not guarantee that particular seat for future performances.

• May I inscribe seats together/near one another?

  Yes. Please select adjacent seats when you submit your request.

• Are there additional opportunities available for larger gifts?

  Yes! Opportunities remain to name rooms and spaces within the building.  We would welcome the opportunity to discuss these possibilities with you.  If you would like more information, please contact Tracey at development@wheaton.edu. 

• May I inscribe more than one name onto a plaque?

  Yes. You may inscribe multiple names onto the plaque, as long as they conform to the specifications listed above.

• Can this be a joint gift?

  Yes. Multiple people may give one plaque. However, Wheaton College will process only one form of payment.

• I am having trouble with my inscription—can someone help me?

  We are always glad to help! Please contact Donor Relations at 630.752.7948.

• Do I still need to purchase a ticket for a future performance if I’ve named a seat?

  Yes. You must still purchase tickets to performances in the concert hall.

• Is my contribution to Endow-a-Seat tax-deductible?

  Yes. No goods or services will be provided in exchange for donations or naming a seat. These contributions will be fully tax-deductible within the limits of federal and state laws.

• How long will my seat be named?

  Your plaque will remain in place indefinitely.  If the seat is replaced, we will make every effort to retain your plaque and use it for the new seat.  If future capital improvements change the seats or Concert Hall permanently, your seat plaque may be moved to College Archives. 

• What can I write as an inscription?

  Here are a few examples of possible inscriptions:

   

  When Jesus I see, O that will be sunrise for me
